Twenty-one world leaders attending this year’s APEC meeting in Sydney were treated to a spectacular pyrotechnic finale at the APEC Gala Dinner at the Sydney Opera House hosted by Prime Minister John Howard.
The display was launched from five floating barges creating a pyrotechnic tableaux between Fort Denison and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The five minute finale required specific colour designs that represented participating countries. The “Colours of the World” finale was punctuated by a presentation of four specially designed and Foti manufactured “APEC Signature Shells”, featuring a representation of the APEC logo colours (yellow, orange and red) in the three layers. The shells, launched by a sixth barge, appeared above the Sydney Harbour Bridge, signally the end to this international event.
